Q. Does SPLICI provide Financing?
No. Woody's does however have established programs with lenders specific to franchise acquisitions. Many loans are backed by the S.B.A. with general terms of good credit and ability to collateralize. Additionally the relatively in-expensive acquisition of a Woody's business can easily be achieved through your local banking relationships, refinances of real property or through programs offered in your state or community.
Q. Do I purchase product directly from SPLICI?
No. SPLICI has established accounts with local and national vendors on most products we sell. SPLICI will set up your accounts and assist you in initial ordering and receiving. Additionally, we receive as a group, "National Account Pricing" on many products.
Q. Can I sell other items at my business that are not specified in the format?
No. SPLICI is a KISS, "keep it simple stupid" business. We do, however, allow franchisees to introduce new products and concepts at our franchise meetings. At that point we all discuss the impact of that product on our operations. General criteria for product approval is outlined in the Operations Manual. Prior to Corporate approval, no new products are allowed.
Q. Who sets the hours of operation at my business?
Generally you do, however, as a customer service function at most locations, common sense and store policy will influence your decision, generally 8 hours a day.
Q. What if I intend to purchase more than one franchise?
We have a program for multiple unit franchisees, however, no additional units will be sold until the franchisee demonstrates their ability and commitment on the first franchise location.
Q. Can I work this franchise alone or will I need help?
Again, the answer depends on the business. Too much business for one person to handle is a good problem to have. Then again, many locations require service seven days a week. Owner operators are the goal of this franchise but it may be necessary to involve a spouse, close friend or family member as an employee from time to time.
Q. What if my franchise location closes or I lose my location?
If you are a franchisee in good standing and have operated in accordance with our franchise agreement, we generally will have no problem in relocating you. A standard fee to reset and reestablish a franchise may be assessed to cover associated costs in procuring a secondary location and successor franchise agreement.
Q. Where does my royalty payment go?
Every day a variety of issues and negotiations are taking place on your behalf. Corporate offices have rent, taxes, and salaries just like any business. Our system is designed to propagate your business and to that end royalties are contributions to the costs of us doing business.
Q. Aside from the initial acquisition fee will there be additional costs to capitalize my business?
Yes, as with any business there are potential start up costs. As a rule of thumb, we advise prospective franchisees to budget an additional $5,000.00 - $10,000 for capitalization purposes. Again, however, actual expenses cannot be determined until location is achieved.
Q. Is it necessary that I own a personal computer?
Yes. Correspondence, pricing and accounting are all areas of business that are electronic processing. Average skills with a basic home computer are a necessity. Franchise communications, newsletters, memos and important marketing information will all be exclusively electronic mail (E-Mail). Rapid communication in a franchise system is imperative.
Q. What are the recommended system requirements for my personal computer?
You must have an internet connection and be able to use an Internet browser and E-Mail. Your computer must be running Windows 2000/Windows ME, Mac OS X, Linux (with X) or better.
Q. What web browsers do you require?
Your web browser should meet these minimum requirements:
  1. Internet Explorer: Version 6.0 and higher
  2. Netscape: Version 6.2 and higher

Q. What's next now that I have this package and information - how will I purchase this franchise opportunity?
SPLICI views the franchise relationship as a form of partnership. Now that you have preliminary information about us, we in turn would like to know a little about you. Please fill out the on-line Franchisee Application Form and return to us.

Then...
  1. Upon receiving your completed form we will start a file and contact you via phone.
  2. We will arrange a personal meeting to answer specific questions and provide you with a Franchise Offering Circular, a Franchise Agreement and other documents for your review.
  3. After you have had adequate time to review all documents we again meet to answer questions and discuss operational specific issues. At any time you are welcome to invite your attorney or accountant to render their opinion.
  4. After all initial meetings, including question and answer sessions, we will then decide if our relationship as franchisor and franchisee should go forward. At that time, if we agree to proceed, a nonrefundable franchise deposit will be necessary. Depending on the class of franchise in discussion the initial deposit may range from ten thousand to thirty thousand dollars. It is at this point that we will award a location and schedule an opening.
Prior to the actual opening of the franchise location, a contract signing will take place at which point the balance of the franchise acquisition costs,  taxes when applicable and any developmental fees will be due in certified funds.
No follow-up appointments will be scheduled without our prior receipt of the Franchise Application
